John C. Gingerich, P. Geo. is a professional geophysicist (APGO) with over 25 years experience in exploration and mining industry technologies. In October, 2002 John left Noranda/Falconbridge and formed Geotechnical Business Solutions (GBS), a company focused on the development, financing and implementation of new or advanced exploration technology. A co-founder and Director of East Asia Minerals Corporation, John successfully led two financing totaling approximately $21M over 8 months. In addition to East Asia Mr. Gingerich also serves on the Boards, Bactech Mining Corporation and Golden Odyssey Mining Inc. Advanced Explorations Inc has raised over $32M under his leadership.
A recognized leader within the mining and remote sensing communities, John sits on 7 industry and government boards and committee. These include; Exploration Division of the Canadian Mining Industry Research Organization (Chairman), Centre for Earth and Environmental Technologies (EETech), Ontario Geological Survey Advisory Board (Chairman), and National Hyperspectral User and Science Team (Canadian Space Agency). Mr. Gingerich also previously severed on the University of Toronto, Pierre “Lassonde Institute for Engineering Geoscience” first Advisory Board.
As past Director, Research and Technical Innovation, Exploration within the Noranda group of companies, John has gained a broad range of practical experience in the application of geosciences in mapping the earth’s surface. In a career that spanned 15 years at Noranda, as part of the Company’s senior management team Mr. Gingerich was involved in the evaluation and/or acquisition/development of mineral opportunities in over 25 countries. More recently Mr. Gingerich led the development of a national mineral Exploration Strategy for the Geological Survey of Iran as part of the Country’s current 5 year Development Plan. Prior to joining Noranda, Mr. Gingerich spent 8 years at Eldorado Nuclear Ltd. which later merged with SMDC to form Cameco.
