It is generally accepted that large quantities of zinc are found in the earth’s crust, although, usually, (unless associated in deposits with other metals (e.g copper, silver, lead), it is not commercially mined and exploited unless found in deposits containing over 3% zinc.
Zinc is one of the most versatile of metals used, with wonderful simplicity, in a host of industrial applications.Zinc’s uses are ubiquitous, protective and frequently taken for granted- from galvanizing steel (for construction and automotive applications) to cathodic protection , die-casting to coinage, batteries to zinc cosmetic/protective creams, zinc tablets as a cold suppressant to beautiful brass alloys, paints to superplastics…..
Zinc and enjoy!
